Do you need extra income? Want to utilize extra space in your home, but don't want a roommate? Do you need a live-in caregiver? Does your aging parent or child returning home need a place to live? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions and are a homeowner, creating a legal accessory dwelling unit (a.k.a.. second unit or in-law apartment) could solve your problem. Come learn about the various types of units, zoning and legal requirements, financing options, rental considerations and a new, simpler permitting process to turn a spare bedroom into a "junior" accessory dwelling unit. The second class will be an interactive session where we will answer questions and review layouts of participants' homes for accessory dwelling unit potential.
