You will learn simple techniques that may reduce stress, anxiety, worry, and discover why mindfulness has generated so much attention within the field of psychology.
The class will include presentations on the research of the benefits of mindfulness and how it relates to neuroplasticity. Presentations will be combined with short practice sessions and group discussion. The practice sessions will include the opportunity to become aware, observe, and accept thoughts and feelings, which has been shown to lead to more peaceful state of mind.
This 6-week series is designed to be non-sectarian and is appropriate for anyone wishing to explore the field of mindfulness. Beginners are welcome as well as those who may have some experience.
