Senior Kickstart is an accelerated college application course designed to give rising seniors a leg up on the application process. By the end of this 4-day program, students will have a clear understanding of college pathways and options, including how to research/apply for financial aid and scholarships. They will have completed some of the necessary aspects of the application such as:
~ College list refinement (bring list of colleges you're considering)
~ Accounts and logins
~ Academic and activities resume
~ Common Application
~ UC/CSU application requirements
~ essays (students will leave with at least one edited draft of an essay).
...all before Senior Year even starts!!!
Students will also leave with documents that will keep them organized for the months to come insuring that they stay on track with deadlines. Additionally, this course gives students the space and time to invest not only in the college application process, but to reflect on their own goals and strengths in order to better identify "right fit" colleges. Students will have access to a College Admission Representative for 1:1 essay edits and advising.
Materials Needed: Students must bring or have access to their transcripts and are encouraged to bring notebooks/pens. Students are also encouraged to bring laptops.
